Hello

I am from finland and i play mostly in european/english districts. I also like to play in german districts because i know a little german.

I have to say that people are much more laid back in european than in american districts. Every time i go to american district people are very wound up and nervous, and also say something offensive very easily. I end up leaving back home very soon. What's up with you people over there, you have some real troubles.

German players are very organized and fun to play with, though i don't understand all they are saying. In european district you see lots of newbie players and they don't get insulted immediately (like they seem every time in america).

I've tried also French and Italian districts but i can't say nothing about them yet. What kind of experiences you have?

I am surprised about your experiences in the German district. I thought it is worse than the Euro English districts.

BTW: Half of the thread has already been deleted, and I doubt much else than "Americans are bad", "... are even worse" and "no, ... are great" is going to come.

Aslong as people stay in their own districts it's fine, if someone starts speaking German in an American District they get shot down in a flamewar, with all the right to.

I'm English, but know enough German to get me by in a PuG...
And not once have I failed with a German PuG.

I played with a few English speaking Germans once, they were pretty organised.

Even though I can speak French reasonably well, I don't go to their districts cause I just plain don't get the French internet slang and contractions.

This thread is full of potential.

I usually played in Int'l but the american district 'experience' ou described is similar to most other online games I've tried. Late at night seems to be the best time as you tend to find an older and slightly more mature playerbase.

I've also had good experiences with German PuGs. I'd usually end up in one because there weren't enough people in the English district for a mission, but I can say that the success rate was certainly higher than the average English PuG.

Since the latest district changes I haven't done much pugging, nor have I spent much time in American districts. I have seen a few rude/aggressive characters over there, but I think these types of people are everywhere.

...oh and we celebrate Christmas, Thanksgiving, and several other holidays and if you don't like that or don't want to say "under God" in the pledge then you can stay where you are and don't come here too...sry had to rant even though this is off topic but for real, "every time I pet your dog he bites me" guess what STOP PETTING THE DOG!!

Well, I live in America (the Continent) and I speak spanish, so why should I leave the American Districts for not speaking english in them? (as some people have suggested in those districts). I mean, english is not the only language spoken in America (the Continent).

I think people should be more tolerant and respect other cultures, and if you do not understand what it is being sad on the ALL CHAT, then just let it go.

I usually avoid Euro districts because of past experiences in other games (as well as real life). I find that most Europeans (not all) already have preconceived notions of Americans as being stupid, rude, loud, aggressive cowboys, and since they are so confident in their assessment they are quite willing to be rude (how's that for inconsistent), condescending, and dismissive to me once they find out I am a "Yank."

Of course, there are always exceptions and I really don't like generalizations, but in my experience this one holds true 75% of the time.

Since I don't feel the need to relive past experiences, I avoid Euro districts like the plague and stick to comfortable chaos of the American districts.

My friend from Sweden always told me

Europe is laid back people work on average less and take longer vacations and enjoy life a little more.

America is high strung work too many hours and take too little vacations. The high stress rubs off on everyone

American here. While I don't think I've had enough experience with the other districts to determine the difference, I know that I've never whiped in a non-American FoW PUG when my friends needed their armor. Not to mention I haven't been successful with a single American pug...

These days, though, you'll see me in the Int. dists. I like the solitude, and I'm not the only one.

You obviously have little experience with beer. Not all American beer is Keystone Light or Budweiser. There are plenty of amazing microbrews out there - you just need to go to a local pub or liquor store to find them.

Unless I'm sorely mistaken, the non-American GW population is, on average, considerably older than the American GW population.

It's not terribly surprising that you observe intolerance, lack of respect, language, childishness, etc. given the population that lives in the ADs.

i'd agree with the OP's germans are organised statement.

i've found myself in german districts for most factions missions (i don't speak german but almost every PuG has an english speaking german in it for stuff i need to hear xD) as the euro PuG's, particuarly in my experience in factions, tend to be useless and its fun to party with people instead of AI every now and then.
